Cindy Levey, MPH

Cindy Levey, MPH, has over 30 years of experience designing, implementing and evaluating innovative, sustainable and socially responsible community health solutions that align organizational priorities, resources, partners and assets.

In addition to her professional focus on nonprofit hospital compliance, she is a trusted resource for building comprehensive programs, strategies and initiatives that improve health and revitalize communities. Her exceptionally strong communication, team building and change management skills inspire cross-functional and multi-level stakeholder buy-in; and she is a trusted leader in providing clear guidance for moving community health forward.

During more than two decades at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, most recently as Executive Director of Community Benefit and Social Responsibility Systems, Cindy:

  • provided leadership and expertise for all aspects of community benefit regulatory compliance;

  • significantly improved capacity to report, analyze and utilize data;

  • built system-wide initiatives in community benefit, community health and social determinants of health;

  • strengthened community benefit and social responsibility strategic planning efforts;

  • led program evaluation efforts; and

  • guided strategic grantmaking

Cindy’s diverse professional background includes leadership roles in hospital, health insurance, community-based, social service and government settings. She has a masters’ degree in Public Health from UCLA with an emphasis in health promotion and education and community economic development, and bachelor’s degrees from Columbia University and the Jewish Theological Seminary of America.

Cindy and her husband raised two children in Los Angeles and are navigating their newly-empty nest with cautious optimism.
